Works in conjunction with Journeys Into American Indian Territory. Disseminates contact and background information on small, charitable organizations whose work is vital to Native communities. Prospective individuals looking to help these organizations can do so either through volunteer,  financial, or material support. The information list is updated yearly. The following is a list of some of the organizations about which NACAN provides information:

Mission statement: To Improve the well-being of indigenous children and communities by helping people help themselves.

Sponsor a Southwestern Native child by sending monthly tax deductible donations which aid in keeping the child in school; correspond with that child and encourage him or her in their efforts to finish school. You will receive regular reports on your child's success.

Sponsor a child , age 7-14, living on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota; contribute to the emergency propane fund to assist elders with winter heating costs or the children's summer camp scholarship fund; holds an annual fundraiser each fall.

Runs the only foster home in the community of Pine Ridge for Lakota children living on the Pine Ridge reservation. Donations of children's clothing (age 5-18), canned goods, blankets, towels, twin sheets, bunk beds,  children's toys, and games, and financial support are welcome.

Three traditional Mohawk families who recently bought back a portion of their homeland in the Mohawk Valley of Upstate New York and are working to establish  an economically self-sufficient traditional Iroquois community there free of alcohol and gambling. Currently they've established a Mohawk craft store, a working organic farm and a bed and breakfast.  They also sponsor a summer language immersion program for all Mohawk people and a spring festival focused on educating the surrounding communities about Mohawk culture. Tax deductible donations are needed to defray the cost of renovations to the community's existing buildings and the construction of more buildings so that more Mohawk families may take up residence there. Skilled laborers, such as plumbers, carpenters, and electricians, are desperately needed for work on building renovations.

Holistic camp for Cheyenne children giving them a solid basis in their traditional culture and an alternative to drugs, alcohol, and gangs. Tax deductible donations for programs and for the construction of new dining and sleeping facilities and campground upkeep.

Provides year round mentoring and counseling to school children who are recovering from drug and alcohol addiction or are at high risk for becoming addicted. Tax deductible donations are needed for rehabilitation and counseling programs, donations of clothes, sporting goods and other necessities are also accepted.

A facilitating organization that coordinates resources donated by people and businesses who want to share with Native elders and their needy families and establish cross cultural relationships. Membership includes a bi-annual newsletter, quarterly updates, and an invitation to the annual July 4th gathering in SD. You can also "adopt" an elder and establish a one-on-one relationship. AGP also accepts material donations.
