"As cliché as this sounds, the Journey surpassed my expectations!
Although there were many day by day highlights to my week, my strongest positive experience was not of the ‘activity’ sort
––rather it was the opportunity we had all week long to just soak up the modern Indian culture in the presence of all the great people we came into contact with. I can honestly say that each individual Native American I met added more depth to an overwhelming impression of a group of people who––most incredibly, considering all they’ve had to deal with––possess a vital spirituality, abundant humor, a strong sense of community and ancestry, and a connection to the earth and sky that is obviously a source of great strength. I felt that the Journey provided me with an authentic glimpse into another world––a world that, due to my own intellectual and spiritual biases, I find superior to our current mainstream American reality. In short, it was genuinely inspirational!––Paul Wikstrom
"My Journey was an experience of a lifetime. All my expectations were fulfilled tenfold, and I am looking forward to returning next year.
The Native Americans were friendly, open and generous to their visitors, while those making the Journey grew as people and enhanced their knowledge of an era long since passed. If knowing the truth about our nation’s history is of interest to you, take the Journey and make the history books and you come alive!

"The thing that impressed me most was the total giving nature that was shared by the Indian people we met. We accomplished more in the week than I ever thought we could. The whole experience was really life-changing!" ––Jeanne Fox
"It was one of the most meaningful weeks I can ever remember. I could not have imagined meeting all the wonderful people we met throughout the experience. The questions I had were answered, but the doors opened have generated many, many more."

"The purpose of this adventure was to try and change forever the way we as Americans view the Native people of our country. You managed to help correct our misconceptions. We learned how Indian culture enriched the world. And the opportunity of having dialogue between Indian and non-Indian helped us appreciate the delicate balance between their struggle for tradition while entering today’s world of self-sufficiency. Indian culture thrives and will continue to thrive with our better understanding, thanks to you and all those who participate in a Journey. ––Judy Thaler, Special Programs Administrator, Buffalo Museum of Science
"We have brought home from our Journey a lot of wonderful and enriching experiences which we could never have made in a better way. What made the program so very special was the coming together with Indian people in such a close, familiar, and informal way so we could experience these wonderful people firsthand. We were very impressed by their modesty, their friendliness, their sincerity and warmth, and especially touched by their deep spirituality. We can now understand Indian people much better, learn from their values, and so try to integrate something into our own lives. It was an incredibly exciting week!

"The experience was excellent! Something I’ll definitely recommend to others. As a result, I have begun to understand Indian people, their
values and spirituality, and how to bring that into my own life.
